EXCERPT 5, from “Jesus Smith and the Ordinary Wonders”.

…the spark in his eyes and the scanning motion
of his enormous head revealed a still vibrant energy.
Gaia lit up the fireplace. All she could offer was bread,
cheese, and some wine, just enough to bring them some
comfort.
They ate together silently, like comrades in a trench.
Hoping for some conversation, she brought two blankets
and sat next to the fireplace, but the dwarf cuddled
in front of the crackling logs and immediately fell asleep.
Gaia smiled while she covered her exhausted guest. Soon
the soothing buzz of Cort’s snoring, and the yellow lights
dancing on the walls, made Gaia’s mind drift away.
They woke up at first light. The fire had died and the
room was cold, but they were both mysteriously at ease.
Gaia’s back was hurting. Medical testing had failed to
reveal any anomaly, but even as a child, she had been in
pain. Expecting a baby had made it worse.
“When are you due?”
“In four months,” she replied, overcoming her surprise.
Her belly wasn’t that big yet.
“I’ll help you,” offered Cort.
Gaia was puzzled and found…

Ordinary ceases when life happens…

WE ALL ARE SPECIAL, AND SOME OF US MIGHT EVEN FIND OUT

EXCERPT 4, from “Jesus Smith and the Ordinary Wonders”.

Thunder shook the night while white flashes randomly contended with the otherwise total darkness in Gaia’s sober room.

She sat on the bed and managed to hug her knees.  It was her thirty-fouth birthday, but she was alone.  Even in Rome, finding friends had proven difficult for a former nun with no social skills.  The sky roaring outside her window wasn’t enough to make her feel less numb and detached.  All she still cared for was the boy inside her, the fruit of another stormy night.

She would call him Jesus.

A whispering wind had just silenced the sky when she heard somebody knocking at her door.  Life had wounded her, yet she had no fear as she faced the smallest of dwarves looking up at her, rain dripping form his drenched hood.

“My name is Cort.  I need shelter for the night.”

In spite of the alarming aspect and the many scars on his hands and face, he didn’t need to say more.  His voice was nasal, and he could have been well over one hundred years old…

WHY EARTH…AND WHY US?

WHAT HAPPENED AFTER EARTH WAS HIT BY THE FALLEN ANGELS?

EXCERPT 3, from “Jesus Smith and the Ordinary Wonders”.

The planet went into shock but fought back by hibernating into the ice age.  Such reaction to the fallen angels made God choose Earth as the place to create a worthier companion.  Too much power, combined with excessive pride, turned the angels into an abandoned draft.  This time starting from dirt—the substance the planet was made of—the Creator molded humanity, more humble creatures favored to the point of being given The Garden of Eden, a terrestrial paradise, a place of joy, innocence, and eternal life.

Lucifer and his followers became humanity’s archenemies, their rage fed by both having been replaced in God’s favor and having to share Earth with another spiritual being.

Using humans’ insatiable appetite for knowledge, a trait induced by the lesser element they were made from, Lucifer deceived them into committing The Original Sin, and act of disobedience to the only condition posed by the Lord: not to eat the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge.

Humans came to discover shame for their nakedness and were condemned to leave The Garden of Eden to return to the ground after a life of struggles.  God imposed a lock on their minds, to prevent them from having access to more than a small fraction of their brain faculties, the price for having chosen knowledge over every other gift.

The punishment was terrible, but unlike with the fallen angels, the Creator found in the nature of humanity’s original making the reason not to give up on them, and still awaits the one who will finally prove worthy of being The Companion.

EVEN GOD WANTED A COMPANION

Being alone seems to be disliked even by God.  After all, what good is to be the master of the universe if you don’t have anybody to share it with? It is a sentiment most of us can relate to…

EXCERPT 2, from “Jesus Smith and the Ordinary Wonders”.

The universe was a cornucopia of wonders the Creator wanted to share with a companion—not a perfect puppet but a superior being validated by its choices.

The dislike for solitude was another trait destined to be passed onto us.

The angels were the first draft, forged from fire and so powerful that one-third of them rebelled to follow proud Lucifer, the morning star, the first to have been created and the most beautiful among them. As a consequence, they were precipitated from the heavens, their long fall ended by Earth, a tiny green planet among the myriads below.

Like a meteorite shower, they hit the surface and made it open into craters, as if the ground had been repulsed by their touch…

Religion, History, Philosophy, common believes, and even the realm of legends and fairy tales are often strings of the same mane.

HOW DID IT ALL BEGIN?

bigbang

Can it be that the Big Bang Theory refers to the biblical FIAT LUX (Let There Be Light)?

EXCERPT 1, from “Jesus Smith and the Ordinary Wonders”.

It takes great energy to bring something into existence, and there in no greater source of energy than love, especially when it comes from God. Love is the force that brings together, as opposed to hate, the one that pulls apart.  There is both infinite innocence and power in the desire for something to happen, and in the capability of effortlessly make it happen by sheer means of ones will…

Preface: The Companion

In the beginning was the void, a never-ending space filled with floating particles infinitely distant from each other.  God was the only entity in an open continuum of matter.  It was silent, dark, peaceful…boring.  Being able to get bored is arguably the first trait we inherited from the Heavenly Father.  God’s desire was the force of cohesion that made things move toward each other, a primordial, cosmic love.  Sparks began to light the void to salute the just born universe.  The process became self-sustained, and matter obediently gave shape to God’s every thought…

THE WORST DEAL EVER MADE…

Posted on by francescoarnone

Original_Sin_by_midnightstouch

Trading innocence for knowledge is the worst deal ever made by humanity!

What is the point at crawling when we were given wings?

We were God’s companions, stewards of the world, granted to partake of the fruits of every tree in the Garden of Eden, with the only exception of those from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.

We needed not to know, as the whole world had already been gifted to us, yet we chose to listen to the serpent, crawling over flying, and we still perpetuate the same deadly mistake today.

Technology is the chosen way, even if it often means pollution and a world that keeps picking up speed, to the point that our lives are progressively turned into a meaningless blur, with a lot “to do” but no time “to be”.

Our disobedience and ingratitude lost us the Garden of Eden, which is exactly what we keep doing today, by failing to appreciate the gifts already in our lives, and by scarring our planet with asphalt and cement.

The Amazon Forest is under attack by the greed of a few, and many medicinal plants are disappearing for ever.  I wonder if it ever occurs to these lost souls that trees are the longs of our planet, and that they cannot breathe money.

“More” caused us to lose “better”, in a foolish race towards nowhere, often to obtain what we don’t even need.  There were no paved road in the Garden on Eden; after all,  there is no need to go faster when you have eternity.

It is not late to find the way back home, but first we must slow down, stop, and change direction.  Instead of trying to bend nature to our will we must relearn respect and appreciation.

Instead of keeping looking outside we need to travel inward, talk to God in prayer and listen to God while in meditation.  Everyday is a new challenge but also a new opportunity to get it right.

Every honest choice, any act of kindness, any selfless decision are steps in the right direction.  Let’s start from something simple, it doesn’t take much.  Little steps are just fine, if in the right direction.

THE HIDDEN TREASURES OF OUR MINDS…

Molecular Thoughts

Molecular Thoughts

What if all the knowledge and the power we will ever need are already inside us, like a treasure locked in our subconscious?

What if one day somebody will be gifted with the key to unlock our true powers?

JESUS SMITH AND THE ORDINARY, book one of the series, is the story of Jesse, an ordinary kid with an extraordinary gift: born to unlock the full potential of our minds…

Just a novel, or maybe not much so, if you believe in the true magic of life, and the wonders that become accessible to a liberated mind.

Note from the author:

I don’t know the truth, but I had a dream I wanted to share with you.

FACT

It is a myth that we use 10% of our brain, but it is a fact that most of us have conscious control only over a small fraction of its faculties.

There is a large literature documenting phenomena like telepathy, telekinesis, psychic reading, precognition,  levitation, healing, just to name the tip of the iceberg.

Such testimony provides compelling evidence that the human mind is a largely underutilized tool, and that it is possible to reach deeper into the vault of its treasures.

FLAKES ARE GOD SENT DETOURS

Posted on by francescoarnone

detours

How many times we dealt with people that proved unreliable and flakey?  We tend to condone and give second chances, always eager to think there must be a plausible explanation, even when none is given.  The truth is there is no excuse for such behavior, and the more we allow it the more it will become part of our reality.  There is no need to get bent out of shape though, some people are just like that, as it appears obvious they are not even making a choice but just yielding to their nature .  They are unable or unwilling to deliver, in spite of whatever they committed to, and cant’ even get themselves to be considerate about it and communicate with their counterparts in a respectful and caring way!! If nothing else, they could at least stop wasting our time, but that is often not the case.  All considered, it is just fine, as they too are instruments intended to steer us in the right directions.  The next time somebody flakes on you, just count your blessings and, instead of getting upset, keep your chin up.  Chances are you will set the path already showing itself, somewhere nearby, the one you should take instead.  Happy journey and make sure you don’t miss the signs…

THE BEST OF EVERYTHING

Couple Kissing And Toasting To Their New Home

THE HAPPIEST PEOPLE ARE NOT THOSE WHO HAVE THE BEST OF EVERYTHING, BUT THOSE WHO MAKE THE BEST OF EVERYTHING THEY HAVE!

“Life is a Cup of Coffee” – Author Unknown

A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor.

Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life.

Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups.

Porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite.

He told his guests to help themselves to the coffee.

After everyone had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor said:

“If you noticed, all the nice looking, expensive cups have been taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones.

While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourself, that is the source of your problems and stress.

Be assured that the cup adds no quality to the coffee.  In most cases, it is just more expensive, and in some cases even hides what we drink.

What all of you wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the best cups…and then you began eyeing each other’s cups to see who had the best one.

Now consider this…

Life is the coffee; the jobs, money and position in society are the cups.

They are just tools to hold and contain Life.

The type of cup we have does not define, nor change the quality of life we live.

Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee.

Savor the coffee, not the cups!

LIVE SIMPLY

SPEAK KINDLY

CARE DEEPLY

LOVE GENEROUSLY

A man that knows no defeat has much to learn yet.  Victory validates our achievements, but it is defeat that exposes our limits and points to areas of improvement.  Just don’t be defined by defeat but use is to be propelled to new heights.  Victory often poisons us with the lie of invincibility, while defeat makes us humble and aware that there is always much more to learn ~ Francesco Arnone
